Attention people! We have reached the 500 million records of General Files! Can you even imagine that number of various books, music, movies, applications etc .etc. etc.? We added a near real time diagram so you can see how fast we grow.
But of course, unlike some other projects, the database size in not our only concern. We pay special attention to the usefulness and relevance of the file search. As you probably already noticed, we made an online link checking feature. If you have any doubts about the validity of a file, you can simply click on our button and we'll re-check it the file is still alive at the file hosting! (available not for all file hosting services currently)
You don't have go there and check yourself anymore, everything is done automatically.
We have already announced on the General Downloader website the integration of two more file hosting websites Madshare.com and Unibytes.com. Another one is being added to the list of GD-supported services at this very moment, it's a FilePost.com. We finally added the support of the alternative links to the General Downloader. It is a useful feature. If a file is for some reason not available, is allows you to still download it from alternative sources. Another new feature is a basic support of multi volume archives. Currently it just offers you to download using the alternative sources, but we are already making an advanced comprehensive system to replace it.
At this very moment we are also testing the advanced support of the General Torrents system. We hope you are already enjoying the torrent support which allows you to upload a torrent file to a file hosting and then download the shared content from General Files. Soon all this will be done automatically with the help of our new option Download via General Downloader for torrents.
We continue to integrate the General Community in to the General World. This time we moved all the news to the General Community and updated the Community information block on the General Files. Now you can see the active and new community users on the main page of General Files.
In the end, let us tease you a little. The next blogpost, which will be published shortly, afterwards, will announce some very long-awaited news! Thank you for staying in the General World and for your support!
